Michelle moved to the Bay Area from Chengdu, China in 2017 and became a trailblazing advocate for civic engagement, LGBTQIA+ rights, and cross-cultural collaboration within and beyond the Chinese-speaking community.
She founded the Society of Heart’s Delight (SHD) 愉园社in March 2020, and has since transformed it into a leading force representing Chinese immigrants in Silicon Valley, forging impactful partnerships with major civic, cultural, and community organizations, as well as local governments like the County of Santa Clara and County of San Mateo.
Under her leadership, SHD has been featured on NBC News, ABC7, and Voice of America for its influential work. With a distinguished background in law and leadership training through the Asian Pacific American Leadership Institute (APALI), Michelle continues to position SHD as a vital bridge between Chinese immigrants and local diverse communities, championing inclusion, representation, and lasting social impact. In 2025, she received the Women’s Champion Award at the Santa Clara County Women’s Leadership and Policy Summit.
Before immigrating to America, Michelle obtained an advanced degree in law from Sichuan University and practiced law for 11 years. In 2013, she co-founded Juheng Law Firm (now SGLA Law Firm), which was recognized as one of the fastest-growing law firms in China by the 2023 ALB (Asian Legal Business). In 2015, she was one of only six legal professionals selected from China to participate in the premier international program of the United States Department of State, the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP).
